Obituary

Joseph Anthony Ciaramitaro, Sr. of Loveland, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Annette M. (nee Marascalco) Ciaramitaro. Loving father of Joseph (Theresa) Ciaramitaro, Jr. of Villa Hills KY, Victor (Sandra) Ciaramitaro of Dayton OH, David (Christen Nagy) Ciaramitaro of Steubenville OH and Angela (Bob) Ricketts of Madison MS. Proud grandfather of John Ciaramitaro, Joseph Ciaramitaro, Sam (Nawal) Ciaramitaro, Michael (Madison) Ciaramitaro, Mary Grace Ciaramitaro, Olivia (Nicholas) Mendel, Michaela Ciaramitaro, Tyler (Alice) Ricketts and Josh Ricketts. Great grandfather of Henry Mendel, Giavanna Jobe, Kaia Brown and Anthony Edward Ricketts. Dear brother of Dorothy (the late Larry) Warren of Memphis TN. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was born in St Louis MO. At a young age, his family moved to Memphis TN and attended St Thomas then Christian Brothers High School and received a BS degree in Accounting from Christian Brothers College in 1957.

Joe began his career in 1958 at Pittsburgh Plate &Glass as an Assistant Account Manager and later moved to Northwestern Mutual Insurance as Office Manager. Joe found his calling in 1967 when he joined the US Department of Treasury in Memphis, TN then moved to Nashville, and then Cincinnati, OH in 1979. Joe retired from the IRS in 1998 as Director of Non-Profit Organizations for the region.

Joe was a long-time member of Good Shepard Parish in Montgomery OH. Over the years, he volunteered in many ways: at church, spaghetti dinners, bingo, as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, AARP Tax Consultant, and drove seniors to healthcare appointments. He was also involved in the City of Loveland OH Tax Board Review, Civil Service Commission, the Lighting Commission as well as a poll worker for several elections.

Joe and wife, Annette were world travelers and during retirement kept an active social life playing cards and connecting with their peers. Joe was a lifelong Catholic and was known for his deep and abiding faith.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 2 from 10:45 - 11:45 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, OH where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM. Bishop Joe Binzer will be the officiant for the Mass of Celebration. Interment will be held following Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Reception to follow.

Pallbearers will be Joe's grandsons: John Ciaramitaro, Joseph L Ciaramitaro, Sam Ciaramitaro, Michael Ciaramitaro, and

Josh Ricketts.

In lieu of flowers the Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
