John T. Abt was born on March 13, 1930 to Jack and Elisbeith (nee Willis) Abt and passed away on Thursday October 1, 2015 at the age of 85. John retired from GM and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Bonnie (nee Taylor) Abt; children, Dexter Jones, Ralph Abt, John A. Abt, Thomas Rod Abt, Dessie "Pat" Elden, Denise Hedberg and Melinda Haldeman; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Melissa Abt, Linda Hopkins, Barbara Abt and sons, Timothy Abt and Jerry Abt, a grandson Russel Hopkins, brothers Otis Clay Abt, Jack Abt Jr, sisters, Lillian Noe, Mildred Richmond and Mable Williams. Friends will be received from 10-11:30 am on Monday October 5, 2015 at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH 45107, where services will be follow at 11:30 AM.
