John Robert Gantt, 91, of Loveland, OH, died March 2, 2015 at Bethesda North Hospital of heart failure following complications from surgery.
Mr. Gantt was born in January 1924 in Florida. He could accomplish or repair anything he set his mind to. After serving in the Army Signal Corp, he continued as an amateur radio operator and communication enthusiast known as K8IJU. For more than 36 years, he was a highly respected drafting supervisor at Westinghouse Electric.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth L. (nee Blair) Gantt; loving daughters, Lucinda A. Gantt of Raleigh, NC and Julie K. Gantt of Loveland, OH; and grandsons, John & Jay Farrington of WI. He was beloved "Uncle Bob" to many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 6 at Sycamore Presbyterian Church, 11800 Mason Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
A light lunch will be served at the church after the service.
Following the luncheon, interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY.
