Proud grandfather of Rick Flynn, Tony Poynter, Michelle Renee Hickman Burris, Nick Poynter, Kim Poynter, Ashley Curtis Allen, Lillie Michealia Little, Robert Kelly Boop and the late Kristen Nicole Curtis. Great grandfather of several great grandchildren. Dear brother of Edwina Jane (Carl) Adams, Wavil Elaine (Starlin) Smiley, Basil Blaine (Brenda) Poynter and the late William Alden Poynter, Wanda Savannah Isaacs, Leland Wayne Poynter. Beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Best friend of Mike Turner and dear neighbor of Al Ramsier. Passed away June 19, 2020 at the age of 83. John retired from Dayton Walther Corp after 36 years. He never met a stranger and was an inherently good man. He will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 26 at 1 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery, Deerfield Township.
