Obituary

John R. “Bob” Plummer, born on April 5, 1950, in Milford, Ohio, passed away with his family by his side, on July 29, 2026, in Hillsboro, Ohio.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Plummer; his children: Dawn (Scott) Stanfill, John Plummer, Ricky Plummer, and Marci (Zachary) Metcalfe. His pride and joy extended to his grandchildren Zachary, Jacob, Joshua, Jenna, Julie, Dakota, Sean, and Nathen and further to his great-grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Makenzie, Juniper, Colton, Laney, Nevaeh, Noah, Aria, Charlotte, Joshua Jr., and Lorelie. Bob also leaves behind his brother, Scott Plummer

While Bob’s family continues his legacy, he now joins loved ones who passed before him: his father, Carl Plummer; his mother, Harriet Plummer; daughter, Tammy Plummer; and brothers Reese, Steve, and Kevin. Their memories remain ever-present in the hearts of those who loved them.

Bob cherished every opportunity to bring joy to those around him, and his playful spirit was perhaps most evident in his love for playing Santa Claus. Many will recall the light in his eyes and the laughter he inspired, especially during the holiday season. Bob’s kindheartedness and humor left an indelible mark on every gathering, spreading happiness wherever he went.

The funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 SR 28, Goshen, Ohio, where friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Fund.

His life will be lovingly remembered and his memory treasured by all who had the privilege to know him.
