IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Louis
Johnson
August 18, 1945 – July 31, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Louis. "J.J." Johnson, who went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family in Blanchester, Ohio.
Born on August 18, 1945, John embodied the values of love, hard work, and unwavering strength throughout his life. As the proud owner of Johnson Drywall, he built more than walls—he built a legacy of craftsmanship, integrity, and dedication that earned him the respect of all who knew him. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were matched only by his devotion to his family and community.
John was a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post 2222, where his friendship touched countless lives. When he wasn't working, you could find him casting a line while fishing, competing in a spirited game of horseshoes, or gathering around a table playing cards with friends. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
His legacy lives on through his children: Tina Susan LePolt, Jacqueline (Eddie) Burchett, Mary Jo Ann Walker, Jennifer (Mark) McCarty, and Amanda (Nolan) Cook; grandchildren: Candace Burchett, Kristen McMullen, John E. Johnson, Mary Lovin, Latoya Fugate, Kimberly Phelps, Samantha Walker, Kendra Whitt, Merrill Warren, Cassandra Burchett, Brandalyn Carpenter, Marrissa Johnson, Jayden Johnson, Devon Johnson, Logan Allen, Hannah Mann, Kylee Neace, Hunter Fisher and Finn Cook; 40 Great Grandchildren; and one Great Great Grandchild: Roman Bee James Kash Ashcraft. He is survived by his siblings, Ron Johnson, Susan Whitworth, and Yvonne (Butch) Watt, and the best friend a man could have his dog, Buddy.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Judith Ann Johnson; children, John David Johnson and Shannon Johnson; parents, George V. Johnson and Marie (nee Raisor) Johnson-Turner; grandchild, Dwayne Walker, a great great grandchild, Angel Campbell, and two brothers, George Johnson and Robert Johnson.
A special thank you to Advanced Home Health and Hospice for taking such great care of John.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of J.J. to Jackie Burchett or Jennifer McCarty to help with funeral expenses.
Friends will be received from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St., Blanchester, Ohio. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home-Blanchester. Interment will take place at Blanchester Cemetery.
