IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John B.
Jackson, Jr.
December 21, 1949 – April 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, John B Jackson Jr. born on December 21, 1949, to John B. Jackson, Sr. and Harriette (Berning), Johnny was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in the outdoors. A passionate hunter, Johnny spent countless days in the woods, passing on his love of the outdoors and his knowledge of firearms to his children and grandchildren.
Johnny was the devoted husband to Sharon (Murphy) Jackson, proud father of six children, John Ryan (Kate Duval), Shannon (Joe McCullough), Patrick (Kelley Ellis), Erin (John Smith), Andrew (Krista Dye), and Megan Jackson Ricketts. He was grandfather to 21 grandchildren, Chelsea Hall (Luke), Karlee Jackson, John Bailey Jackson, Grace Jackson, Jack McCullough, Sam McCullough, Will McCullough, Charlie McCullough, Andie McCullough, Grant McCullough, Nicholas Jackson, Ben Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Haley Jackson, Alyssa Smith, Hannah Smith, Samantha Smith, Jacob (Taylor Welling) Jackson, Anna Ricketts, Nathan Ricketts, Nolan Ricketts and great- grandfather to Nora Hall. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jill (Mike Jones), Denise (Rodney Allen), and his brother Dave Jackson, as well as a wide circle of friends and family who respected and admired him.
Johnny was deeply committed to the family business, Bluford Jackson & Son, where he was Vice President for over forty years.
Johnny was a storyteller, mentor, and hero - never without a gun, a good joke, or a bit of wisdom. Whether sitting in a deer stand, cleaning his guns, or simply walking through the woods, John felt at home in the wild. He taught his family to work hard, speak truthfully, and always be prepared, and in doing so he built a legacy of resilience and love that will echo through generations.
Johnny will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family that will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 6:00-8:00 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 OH-28, Goshen, OH 45122 where stories will be shared, memories honored, and his spirit celebrated in the way he would've wanted - -with laughter and family.
