John W.
Huwel
Jun 7, 1943 — Sep 23, 2026
Loveland
John W. Huwel of Loveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026.
Devoted husband of 59 years to Barbara Jane Huwel. Beloved father of Tara (Matt) Kennedy and John Scott Huwel. Proud grandfather of Matthew Kennedy, Megan Kennedy, Abigail Kennedy, Alexa Huwel, John Robert Huwel, and Mischa Huwel. Cherished brother of Joann (the late Patrick) McDonald, David (the late Terri) Huwel, and Linda (Ed) Peters. Dear son of the late John F. and Ann Huwel.
John, fresh out of high school, built a career working at Cincinnati Gas & Electric.
John was a man shaped by his faith, strong values, steady hands and an unmatched work ethic. He dedicated his life to his faith, wife, children and grandchildren. He took deep satisfaction in a job well done. To him, work was not just a means to provide, but a testament to his character, integrity and love for his family. His actions spoke volumes, offering quiet strength, wisdom and a dependable shoulder to lean on.
When he wasn't working, John found his greatest joy in the simple, honest pleasures of life. He loved to work on projects around the house or in the yard alongside his wife Barb. When he wasn't working around the house, he was spending time watching the Reds, Bengals, UC and Xavier athletics. But his greatest joys in life were spending time with his grandchildren. He would share endless stories about them to any and everyone. They were truly his pride and joy.
John will be greatly missed, but it does bring comfort knowing he has reunited with the love of his life Barb as they prepare to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together in their forever home in heaven.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the League of Animal Welfare or Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash.
