John Allan Hickman Jr. passed away on August 27, 2026. He was born on October 24, 1995, in Darby, Pennsylvania.

John will be remembered with love by those closest to him. He was the beloved son of Carol and James Dougherty and his father John Hickman Sr. A dear brother to his sisters Heather Pierce (Ethan) and Chelsea Slover (Ryan). An adored uncle to his four nephews Emmett, Ryan, Lucas, and Chase. And the beloved nephew of Pamela Schaner (Carl), Marian Schaner, Allan Schaner (Sonia), and Susan Hillen (Bob). His fiancée, Michele Eiting, and her children will miss him dearly; Their love and connection to John remain a lasting part of his memory.

John was raised in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. During his youth he was a daredevil who could skateboard, snowboard, surf, and do bike tricks that were never outmatched. Jay was a celebrated diver for Ridley High School and participated in multiple Pennsylvania State Championships. He was an artistic individual and a talented guitarist who revered Ozzy Osborne. Jay was a sweet and loving person who had an affinity with animals of all kinds, particularly dogs and reptiles.

John relocated to Ohio and made many friends including his fellow officers at the State of Ohio’s Correctional Facility in Lebanon Ohio. He was a proud C.O.

As family and friends mourn his passing they also hold close the time they shared with him and the place he will always have in their hearts. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
