It is with heavy hearts that we announce that John Eldon Fitzgerald, 85, has passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023. He passed away surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Born in London, Ohio on May 26, 1937, to the late Edward Eldon Fitzgerald and the late Thelma Mae Lankford.

He is survived by his sister Alice Marie (Fitzgerald) Dixon, 80, of Springfield, Ohio and George Andrew Fitzgerald, 87, of South Charleston, Ohio. Additionally, he is survived by his six children, Daniel Edward Fitzgerald, 62, of McHenry, Illinois; Alyce Jean (Fitzgerald) Fisher, 61, of Fayetteville, Ohio; Johnna Mae (Fitzgerald) Florio, 60, of Seminole, Florida; Paul Van Fitzgerald, 58, of Lebanon, Ohio; Carol Faye (Fitzgerald) Sharp, 57, of Ashville, Ohio and Francis (Frank) Patrick Fitzgerald, 47, of Taylorsville, Georgia. He leaves a legacy of 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He has been a resident of Fayetteville, Ohio for the last 21-years, formerly of Lebanon and Springfield, Ohio. He retired from Century Equipment Company located in Evendale, Ohio in 2002.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral services and the family requests that those who knew John, celebrate and reflect on the memories that you made and shared with him.
