John Fredrick Downey of Goshen, OH., went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2025, at the age of 90. John was born on January 8, 1935, in Cincinnati, OH to William and Emily Downey.

John was the beloved husband of the late Wanda J. (nee Bunch) Downey, loving father of Julia Hiter, Bill (Donna) Downey and Marie Downey, caring grandfather of Zachary (Jenna) Downey, Kathryn Downey, Megan (Logan) Martin and Josh (Alex) Hiter, proud great-grandfather of Cecilia Downey, Wilhelmina Downey, Emmeline Downey, Ella Martin, Deegan Morrison and Joie Hiter, dear brother of Janice Bailey, Barbara Locke, Jeanette Beabout and the late Jim Downey and Jackie Downey, cherished son of the late William H. And Emily (nee Lambert) Downey.

Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. Friends will be received from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Thursday, March 6 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 12 Noon on Thursday.

Interment will take place at Goshen Cemetery, Goshen Township, OH.
