Obituary

John D. Falso, 77 an avid golfing member at the Kenwood Country Club since 1976. John D. Falso was a compassionate, loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. During the warm weather he could be found doing what he loved to do the most, playing a round of golf at the Kenwood Country Club, and enjoying a beer with his golfing buddies afterwards in the Grill. If he wasn't on the golf course, he was busy at his home spending time with his wife of 50+ years and his beloved grandchildren. John Falso died Sunday January 23, 2005 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona after a short illness. He died peacefully with his wife at his side. He is preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Lori Falso Bauke, who passed away 9 years ago on January 24th. Born and raised in Ambridge, PA on June 25, 1927 to Josephine and Frank Falso, he is survived by his older sister Thomasine Hyland, who was like a mother to him, and his brother and friend, Armand Falso. He was preceded in death by his brother Tony. In 1944 he served in WWII in the navy and in 1949 registered at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. After college he met his bride of 50 years, Rose Mary Romano, a school teacher and homemaker. They established a life together in Kent, raising their 3 daughters, rooting for the KSU Golden Flashes basketball and football teams, golfing at Twin Lakes Country Club and enjoying their many friends. John had careers in the real estate business, the Chamber of Commerce, and vice presidential sales positions in local companies. John was most well known for his civic work in the community, participating in the Jaycees and Loins Club, among other civic organizations. In 1960, as a tribute to his community service, he was selected by the Junior Chamber of Commerce as the Young Man of the Year. Later he relocated to the Cincinnati area and became a retiree in 1982. Survivors include 2 daughters, Merry Jo Orr of Minneapolis, MN, Kathy Anne Sheeran, of West Chester, OH, and his 6 grandchildren: John Falso Bauke, Matthew Gregory Bauke, Kelsey Anne Sheeran, John Thomas Sheeran, Jackson Carl Orr, and Mitchell Lester Orr. Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38173-0704 or to Mayo Foundation for Education Research, 13400 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85259
