John C. (Todd) Hunter, beloved husband of the late Barbara J. Hunter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the age of 89. He is survived by sons J. Michael and wife Joy and Dana S. and wife Kelly Hunter, daughter, Teresa D. Hunter, and 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Born in Columbia, SC, he graduated from Porter Military Academy in Charleston, and served in the US military from 1943-45. Todd and Barbara owned and operated a restaurant and Todd started a career as a radio personality on WSKY in Asheville, NC before moving to Lexington, Ky where he worked for TV station WLEX as an On-air personality doing news, weather and even a Saturday morning kids show. In 1958, he moved the family to Cincinnati to begin a 33 year career as a TV Announcer and Weatherman for WCPO-Channel 9. Friends and family will be received at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Avenue, Loveland, OH 45140 on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2:30-3:30. Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher, NC.
