John Paul Byrom, 80, of Blanchester, Ohio passed away on Wednesday May 27th, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. John was born in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas on June 2nd, 1945, the son of William H and Nora A Byrom. Graduated from Washington Courthouse in 1963, attended the University of Kentucky, and entered the military serving in the Army stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and found joy in the outdoors. For many years he operated the Marathon station at the Point in Blanchester. During that time he became a friend to many in the Blanchester community. John never met a stranger and loved his family more than life.
John is survived by his wife Lori (Fittro) Byrom, whom he married in 1983 in Lynchburg Ohio, son W Shane Byrom of Blanchester, daughter Angela (Kevin) Brown of Blanchester. Grandchildren, Dylon (Maria) Byrom, Lacie Tedrick, Braz Byrom, Audri Byrom, Kevin (Tessa) Brown Jr, and Cheyenne Brown. Great Grandchildren Hunter Byrom, Titus Brown, Griffin Brown, Natalie Brown, Mother in Law Judith Fittro of Lynchburg, and Special Family Friend Tiffany Broughton of Blanchester. John was preceded by Father William Byrom and Mother Nora Byrom and Father in Law Harold Satch Fittro.
Services for John will be held at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Blanchester, Ohio on June 1st, 2026. Visitations will be held from 10am-1pm with funeral services immediately following. Following services John will be laid to rest at the Westboro Cemetery in Westboro, Ohio.
