Born January 11th 1932 died June 13, 2025

Died peacefully at the age of 93. For 72 years he was the beloved husband of Jane (Bussey) Burpee, brother to the late Dick Burpee (Eileen), Dr. Jim Burpee, MD, (Nancy). He was father to: David Burpee (Mary Beth), Mary Frey (John G.), Jeff Burpee (Mary Christine), and Lisa Brown (Gordon). His family grew to include 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandsons,

An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin and the Army ROTC program in 1954. He served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in Georgia and Stuttgart, Germany. John worked in early TV with a number of NBC affiliates in Providence, RI, Columbus, OH and finally settling in Cincinnati, OH at WLW. He ended his career with a large Advertising firm there after 30 years in public relations. He retired to their hobby farm in the Loveland, OH countryside.

John enjoyed camping, hiking, skiing, journaling, sports, gardening, bridge and traveling. John's life was a testament to family, the value of work, and the importance of embracing life's adventures.

A celebration of John's life will be held at the Carriage Green clubhouse, 9475 Old Village Dr. Loveland, OH 45140, August 2 from 2-5.
