IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John C. Brackenridge
Blanton
December 13, 1934 – March 4, 2025
John C. Brackenridge Blanton, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 90.
John was a devoted employee for 60 years with the Gallenstein Company. He was someone who took great pride in working hard and the knew the value of a job well done. He loved to spend his time outdoors any chance he could get. Two of his favorite past times included tinkering around the house as well as his endless dedication to maintaining the most beautiful mowed lawn in the neighborhood. If you knew him, you knew he had a sweet tooth that was unmatched. He never came in contact with a donut he didn't like. He spent his free time watching old cowboy movies, listening to bluegrass music and taking cat naps in his favorite recliner. Lastly, Brack (John) was relentless in his devotion to his wife, Ruth, who was plagued with many health issues over the years. He unselfishly became her eyes, legs, and caregiver for the last 10 years of her life. He lived, loved and sacrificed for his wife. He was a doting father and grandpa and loved to brag on his grandkids any chance he could get. He will be remembered and missed often.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Blanton; parents, Ernest and Swanie (nee Howard) Blanton; sister, Edna Strange; brothers, Robert Blanton, Fonzie Blanton, and Arguster Blanton; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Blanton, Cora Blanton, Jayne Blanton, and Christine Blanton; brother-in-law, Frank Iker.
John is survived by his daughters, April Applegate and Kathy Bowman; grandchildren, Brackston Applegate, Michael (Eliashia) Bowman, Nicole Millikan, and Matthew (Ali) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Alexxus, Onyx, Tevon, Eddy, Ariana, Austin, Bella, Gunner, Trace, and Oakley; great-great-grandchild, Blaire; brother, Willie (Darlene) Blanton; Sisters, Mary Iker and Emma Coulter; niece, Vickie Strange, along with several other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St., Blanchester, Ohio.
