Obituary

Joann Geiger, 90, formerly of Avondale Estates, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude Voss. Joann is survived by her sons; Kenny Geiger his wife Debbie, Bob Geiger his wife Sloane, Jerry Geiger, Charlie Geiger his wife Dawn, Col. (Rt.) William (Billy) Geiger and his wife Sally, Steve Geiger and his wife Sherry, her daughters; Margaret Walker and her husband Mike, Elaine Zimmerman and her husband Scott and Catherine Geiger-Ball, Joann is also survived by grandchildren; Trent Geiger, Emily Mercier, Jonnie Geiger, Rebecca Walker, Kristen Vineyard, Taylor Geiger, Robert Geiger, Sara Schmitt, Jessica Geiger, Megan Pagano, Jared Geiger, Jennifer Pfahl, William Geiger, Maggie Lou Geiger, Reggie Ball, Raeshon Ball, Marcus Ball and Sophie Geiger; Great- grandchildren; Reagan Mercier, Avery Geiger, Olivia Geiger, Jack Geiger, Brodie Vineyard, Lucas Pagano, Stella Pagano, Roman Ball, Reagan Ball, Marley Ball, and Blaise Ball and many more loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Geiger. Her brothers; Ray Voss and Jim Voss, sisters: Peg Reder and Marjorie Busemeyer. Brother-in law; Joe Geiger and Sister-in law; Dorothy Tepe. Joann was active member until recently in her church; St. Thomas More, the Avon Garden Club, the Avondale Womens Club, the Avondale Community Club, the "Noodle Ladies" of Avondale Community Pool, several Bridge and Knitting Circles, She stayed in touch with a group of ladies from her high school graduating class of Ursuline Academy. Joann graduated from Our Lady of Cincinnati College- Edgecliff. Joann and her late husband Dick met at Fort Scott Camp where they both served as counselors. They continued to court through their college years, Joann at Edgecliff, Dick at St. Xavier. They were united in marriage on May 2, 1953 at St. Agnes, Bond Hill Ohio by Father Huber The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday February 6, 2019, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church, Decatur Georgia on Thursday February 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Friends will also be received on Saturday, February 9 from 10-11:30 AM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland. Graveside Services will be held at 12 noon at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas More Church, 636 W.
