Jerry Andrew, devoted fiance of Angela M Craigo, beloved son of Larry and Nancy Swan of Orchard Lake Michigan, loving father of Sara Swan, Erika Swan, Lisa Swan Cabrera, Son in law James Cabrera and grandson Nicholas Andrew Cabrera, dear brother of Robert "Bobby" Swan. Jerry passed away on March 6, 2016 at the age of 59. Jerry began his aviation career at McDonnel Douglas in St Louis where he worked on military aircraft. He was one of the youngest engineers to receive government military clearance, diagnosing problems that the pilots reported directly to him. Jerry began working at G.E. Aviation in 1984 and spent his 22 year career working with teams producing jet engine control software. One of his most significant and lasting contributions to the business was the creation and maintenance of engine control simulators and software testing tools. His software is used by hundreds of engineers in the development and certification of civil and military aircraft engines and aero-derivative gas turbines for over two decades. Jerry had many friends at G.E. and was renowned in the technical community for his innovation and many contributions. A private memorial service will be held in Orchard Lake Michigan.
