IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Neal
Putteet
August 20, 1935 – December 8, 2023
Jerry Neal Putteet, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend, entered the arms of God on December 8th 2023. He was born on August 20, 1935 in Hartwell, Ohio to Melvin and Thelma Putteet.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Margie R. Putteet (Helton); his children, Patti K. Sharp (Tracy), Jerry D. Putteet (Erica), and Tammi R. Snell (Scott); his grandchildren, Bethany N. Sarchet, J. Michael Putteet, Nathaniel H. Putteet, Sarah R. Putteet, Courtney S. Putteet (Nolan), and Kelsey L. Linton (Spencer). He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Darrell E. Ramsey Jr. and Nathaniel C. Ramsey. What a joyous reunion that must be in heaven.
Jerry's life was forever changed in 1954 when he saw his future wife, Margie, wearing purple velvet shorts crossing Wildwood St. in Hartwell. They married on February 12, 1955 and recently celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Jerry worked as a purchasing agent for many years at Swallen's Department Stores, helping make their music and camera sections competitive leaders in the tri-state area. He was affectionately nicknamed the Silver Fox for his ability to negotiate.
While Jerry achieved much professionally, his greatest legacy is the profound love of God and family he instilled in those close to him. He cherished time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. Jerry and Margie opened their hearts and home to several foster children and family members over the years. They were always quick to serve those in need with compassion. Jerry taught Bible studies and served the Loveland Church of God faithfully. His unique humor and gift for storytelling brought laughter and joy to many lives.
The family will have a private graveside service for family to celebrate Jerry's life on December 11th, 1 pm at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Goshen, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton
