Honaker
June 21, 1964 – September 29, 2022
Jeffrey "Scott" Honaker, 58, of Midland, OH passed away at home on September 29, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Born June 21, 1964, in Oscoda, MI, he was the son of Lanny Ross Honaker and the late Margaret "Sue" (Land) Honaker. He was married to Kathryn Louise (Grimm) Honaker on July 4, 1998. He is survived by one brother, Anthony Steven Honaker of Dayton, KY, and two daughters, Ashley Sheree Hoskins of Indianapolis, IN and Brooke Suzanne Honaker of Maineville, OH and seven grandchildren. A grandson, Jeffrey "Ross" Harold South, preceded him in death.
He was a 1982 graduate of Woodbridge American High School in Woodbridge, England. He attended college at the University of Missouri and Louisiana State University. He was an assistant director of emergency medical services in Kennett, MO before moving to retail management at Best Buy and Lowe's in southern Ohio. Throughout his life he lived and breathed sports. Some of his proudest accomplishments were making the All-Europe teams in football, tennis, and wrestling while in high school. He went on to play football at the University of Missouri and continued his passion by being a volunteer coach at Blanchester High School for football, softball, and girls' tennis. He spent many years volunteering with the Anthony Muñoz Foundation and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. He was a member of the Masonic Highland Lodge #38 in Hillsboro, OH and a 32° member of the Scottish Rite. Scott never met a stranger and especially will be remembered for his sense of humor and fiery spirit. He loved to cook, and you could always count on Scott to bring dirty rice to family gatherings.
