Obituary

Jeanette Gertrude Wientjes, 79 of Wilmington died peacefully on April 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by family. Jeanette was born to Emmett and Gertrude Crone Rude on April 20, 1936, the oldest of three children. Graduating from Blanchester High School in May, 1954, she and Leroy Michael Wientjes were married on August 21, 1954. Jeanette and Mike celebrated their 59th anniversary five months before Mike's passing in January, 2014. Jeanette is survived by two sons, Ronald Wientjes (Debra) of Xenia, Ohio and Donald Wientjes (Heidi Davis) of Wilmington, Ohio. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Elissa (Justin) Thrasher of Columbus and Christy (Tim) Felding of Xenia and two great-grandsons, Nolan Thrasher and Jake Fielding. Jeanette is also survived by a brother, Felix Rude (Katharine Hess) of Whitehouse, Ohio and a sister Joann (Marvin) Chamberlin of Jefferson Township, Clinton County. Several nieces and nephews of the Rude and Wientjes families who were very close to their "Aunt Jeanette," include, Laura Curliss, David Curliss, Deron Curliss, Rebecca Rude, Felicia Rude, Sharon Farley, Susan McCloud, Sally McCloud and Brent Wientjes. Jeanette also enjoyed a loving relationship with her Crone and Rude/Rhude cousins. Also surviving are many special friends and her and Mike's "granddaughter", Stacy Spinks Dvorak and her family of Wakeman, Ohio. Jeanette, in addition to her husband Leroy Michael, was predeceased by her sister-in-laws, Jane Rude of Whitehouse, Ruth Wientjes, Bob Wientjes, John Wientjes and June Wientjes. Jeanette's business life included working for Millard Lieurance Insurance Company and Blue Rock Construction Company in Washington Court House and a 25 year career with Sarah Coventry Jewelry Company, rising to the position of Company Vice-President. Her Sales Group covered Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and part of Indiana. When Sarah Coventry went out of business, Jeanette was associated with Park Lane Jewelry Company for four years. Jeanette ended her business career with the Clinton County Child Support Enforcement Agency and was employed for ten years with her last title being Administrative Hearing Officer. Most of all Jeanette loved her Family, friends and home of 53 years...a home that she and Mike restored and loved. Jeanette was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and was a Board Member of the Garrison Corner Cemetery Association...a historic cemetery where her Rude ancestors are buried. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanette will be held on Thursday, April 14, 11:30 AM at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington. Friends will be received from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the church on Thursday prior to the Mass. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Fayetteville, OH. If desired, donations may be made in Jeanette's memory to Community Care Hospice, 200 R. Gordon Dr., Wilmington, Ohio 45177 or to St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, Ohio 45144. Fr. Mike Holloran and Fr. Pat Crone will be presiding for Jeanette's Mass of Christian Burial.
