Jean J. (nee Veechio) Porkolab was born in Traveskyn, PA and moved to Lorain, Ohio at age 4. Graduated from Lorain High School, married Alfred Porkolab. During WWII she worked for the Office of Price Administration and later as Office Manager of the Porkolab Insurance Agency for 30 years. She was ative in many charitable causes and became President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 451, Lorain and the Ninth District. In 1958 she received the VFW Ladies Auxiliary National Award for Ohio's 100 percent Community Service. She was proceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Lucy Vecchhio and brother Raymond and Henry. She is survived by her husband Alfred Porkolab of 73 years, a Son Alan B. Porkolab of Cincinnati, grandchildren Courtney and Zachary, and numerous nieces a She was an active memeber in the Hungarian Reformed Church of Lorain where she sang in the church choir.
