Jay L. Cobb, Jr. Devoted husband to Patricia Cobb. Loving father to seven children; Vikki Drinnen, Terri (Gary) Menchhofer, Jeff (Karin) Cobb, Toni (Andy) Schoenhoft, Cindy (Alan) Stelzer, Chris (Vicki) Cobb, and Jenny Haynes. Step-father to three step-children; Rick (Terri) Stigers, Pam Teller, and Kim Appel. Proud grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loving brother to Nayon Victoria (Paul) Clark.
Jay was born in Providence, Rhode Island; as a proud enlisted veteran of the US Navy (WWII) he was assigned to the Naval Air Transport Service Squadron and logged over 2000 hours flying in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands from 1944 until 1946. Upon his discharge, he graduated from Bridgton Academy in Bridgton, Maine. He was an alumni of the University of Cincinnati and the University of Maine. Jay moved to Kentucky and helped develop the Burr Oak Park and later worked on the Newport Flood Wall. While residing and working in Kentucky, he was nominated to be a Kentucky Colonel in 1995 and Kentucky Admiral in 1970. He was a retired general foreman with the Ford Motor Company and recipient of the prestigious Ford Citizen of the Year for his impressive contributions through spare time participated in civic, charitable, educational, recreational and youth organizations in the Loveland Community. Jay was a Loveland City Councilman and Vice-Mayor; recipient of the Town Crier Bell; created and managed the Loveland Women's All-Starette Softball Team; created and produced the Loveland Drum & Bugle Corps, later to become the award winning Chevaliers teaching trumpet, bells and fife as well as devoting his time to various athletic and youth groups. He played softball until he was 75 years old and enjoyed his business of making clocks and displaying them at Trader's World. Jay never met a stranger and his positive attitude in all areas of his life was truly remarkable and undeniable.
Passed away May 10, 2017 at the age of 90.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Northeast Church of Christ, 12020 Southwick Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241.
