James "Jim" F. Jones, III, of Loveland. Jim was born March 23, 1946, to Marian Elinor (nee Fithian) Jones and the late James F. Jones, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Karla (nee Skolburg) Jones; his 103-year-old mother Marian Elinor Jones, his loving daughter Erika (Christopher) Robison; his cherished grandchildren, Colin (Becca), Ian, Lillian, and Reagan; and his sisters, Diane Jones and Holly McLean-Aldis. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Robert Jones. Jim passed away March 3, 2026, at the age of 79.

Jim’s passion for photography began in his youth in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, where he worked as a photographer for the local newspaper during high school. He went on to serve with distinction as a Photographer in the United States Navy. Jim spent 27 years with Eastman Kodak Company. Post Kodak, Jim started his own weddingphotography business. He very much enjoyed preserving the moments that families would cherish for generations. In later years, Jim worked for 18 years at the Kroger Company in both photofinishing and the fuel center. 

Jim had a level of spontaneity that constantly surprised his family. You truly never knew what might happen next, like the unforgettable day he left to walk the dog and came home driving a Mustang. Jim is greatly missed by family and friends.

Private inurnment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati.
