James “Jim” Schuchter passed away on August 22, 2026, in Morrow, Ohio.
Jim was born in Morrow, Ohio, on his family’s farm to the late Lawrence and Evelyn (nee Hall) Schuchter. A proud United States Army veteran, Jim honorably served his country.
Jim was the beloved husband of Patricia (nee Ranker) Schuchter and devoted father of Jennifer (Tyler) Woods, Elizabeth (Mike) Byrd, Ellen (Mike) Prows, and Katie (Brian) Burns. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Testerman.
Jim was a cherished grandfather to Nicholas (Brandi) Woods, Zachary (Sarah) Woods, Brittany (Derek) DiSalvo, Eric (Joshua) Byrd, Mark (Meredith) Byrd, Kylee Byrd, Lindsey (Mark) Holmes, Luke Prows, Ashley (Rex) Cabrera, Adam (Lauren) Testerman, and Jensen (Madison) Gebhardt.
He was also the proud great-grandfather of Carrington Woods, Hartley Woods, Jackson Woods, Payton Woods, Sutton Woods, Rowan Woods, Lincoln Woods, Brecken DiSalvo, Callum DiSalvo, Hayes DiSalvo, Holden DiSalvo, Crosley Byrd, Baylor Byrd, Otto Byrd, Jack Holmes, Mila Cabrera, Elin Cabrera, Camden Testerman, Colton Testerman, Cohen Testerman, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Jim is also survived by his siblings, Gail Mitchell, Kathy (John) Cayer, and Donnie (Donna) Schuchter; sister-in-law, Beth Schuchter; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents and daughter Teresa, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Schuchter, Jerry Schuchter, Carol Jean (Bob) Young, and Kenneth Schuchter.
Jim’s life was deeply rooted in Morrow, from his beginnings on the family farm to the family he and Patricia built together. His legacy lives on through the many generations of his family and the memories they shared with him. Jim worked at Fisher Body as a tool and die maker in Hamilton, Ohio for 38 years.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 10 -11 AM at the St. Margaret of York Catholic Church, 9499 Columbia Road, Loveland, OH 45140.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church at 11 AM at the church.
Interment will be held at Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, OH.
Memorial contributions in Jim's memory can be directed to the UC Brain Tumor c/o 'Team Teresa' or a charity of one's choice.
Pallbearers for Jim will be his grandsons' Nicholas Woods, Zachary Woods, Eric Byrd, Mark Byrd, Luke Prows, Adam Testerman and Jensen Gebhardt.
