IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James J.
Hartings
July 7, 1944 – October 11, 2024
James J. Hartings of Cincinnati. Dear brother of Michael (Nancy) Hartings. Proud uncle of Justin (Nicole) Hartings, Jed (Andrea) Hartings, Joshua (Christi) Hartings and Margaret (Steven) Horvath. James ("Jim") was a graduate of St. Xavier High School ('62) and John Carroll University ('66), where he played varsity basketball and tennis. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army, Transportation Corps, and supervised deployment of the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division to Vietnam. He then enjoyed a successful business career at DuBois Chemical (1969-1992). As President of DuBois International, he lived abroad for ten years in Germany, Holland, and England, where he developed a passion for collecting fine art. Jim was known for the surprise gifts and advice he shared with his family, who lovingly knew him as "Uncle J.J." May he rest in peace with his dear parents, Fred and Ruth, and with Our Lord.
