Obituary

Jacqueline Faye Ballinger, affectionately known as Jackie, was born on July 27, 1952, in Goshen, Ohio, to Carlos and Catherine (née Gray) Ballinger. She peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on April 18, 2025, at the age of 72.

A proud graduate of Goshen High School. Jackie lived a life full of creativity, music, and deep love for her family. She had a heart for sharing her passions—whether it was through playing guitar, teaching her nephews to strum their first chords, or introducing her nieces and nephews to the joy of crafting. From beaded jewelry and leather bracelets to needlework, Jackie made ordinary moments memorable.

She had a deep love for gospel music, especially The Gaither Homecoming series, which brought her great comfort and joy. Jackie also had a special place in her heart for horses, often walking with her nieces and nephews to the church corner just to watch them and share a quiet moment of wonder.

To her family, Jackie was more than a sister and aunt—she was a second mother, a teacher, and a lifelong encourager. She poured love into each of their lives and created lasting memories through her gentle presence and generous spirit.

Jackie is survived by her beloved sisters: Vivian Vogt, Beverley (Wayne) Halcomb, and Mary Messmar. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her nieces and nephews: Kathy Yokley (Teresa Sadlo), Carl Parsons, Randy (Patsy) Halcomb, Keith (Rebecca) Halcomb, Trina (Davey) Hollins, Chris (Sara) Halcomb, and Niki (Rafael) Farris. Her great-nieces and nephews include C.J. (Christa) Halcomb, Kaitlyn (Alec) Kochendorfer, Kaleb Halcomb, Patrick (Katie) Halcomb, Trey Hollins, Rafael (Esther) Farris, Hayden Hollins, Geovanni Farris, Tyler Halcomb, Zarianna Farris, Asher Halcomb, Isaac Halcomb, and many more who were blessed by her love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Catherine Ballinger, and her dear sister, Phyllis Parsons.

Jackie's legacy of faith, family, and quiet creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
