Howard W. Bloemker of Clarksville, OH. Born on February 11, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2018 at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Georgia Ann (nee Carman) Bloemker. Loving father of Dale (Pam) Bloemker and Judy (Bob) Weaver. Caring grandfather of Kara (Mitch) Estes, Jacob Weaver, Olivia Bloemker and B.J. Bloemker. Proud great-grandfather of Mason Estes and Kaylee Estes. Dear brother of the late Robert Bloemker. Cherished son of the late Clarence and Clara (nee Pottman) Bloemker. Uncle of Kathy Schweitzer and the late Charlene Bloemker and their families.
Howard was born and raised in Delhi. He attended Western Hills High School and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Passionate about music and trumpet playing, at age 15, he started the Howard Bloemker Orchestra (HBO). Although retired from the group after 60 years, it is still in existence today, carrying the same name.
He joined the Army in 1951 serving in the Army Band for 3 years. He married the love of his life, Georgia in 1957 and continued to reside in Delhi for 48 years where they raised their family and were active members of their community.
Following the military, Howard was employed by Kruse Hardware in Cincinnati. From there, he branched off and started his own electrical hardware wholesale business - Bloemker Supply - in 1969. It was supported by his wife Georgia and often staffed by their children. Upon his retirement in 1997, he took these talents and did electrical projects at church and home.
Howard was a former 50 year member of Price Hill Baptist Church for where he served as choir director for 18 years. He was ordained a Deacon in 1965 and held that position until they moved in 2005 to Clarksville, OH. Most recently, Howard was an active member of the Sugar Run Valley Baptist Church since 2006 where he continued to serve as Deacon until his passing.
Howard was a deeply faithful man who was also passionate about spending time with his beloved family. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and nature. One of his favorite pastimes was mowing the lawn.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 6 PM - 8 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 10 AM.
Interment with military honors, St. John's Cemetery. Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Sugar Run Valley Baptist Church Mission or Building Fund at 5886 State Route 132, Morrow, OH 45152.
Pastor Earl McGuffey of Sugar Run Valley Baptist Church will be the minister for the services.
