Herbert C. Dunkmann was born October 31, 1930 to Herbert O. Dunkmann and Anna F. (nee Riess) Dunkmann and passed away March 26, 2017 at the age of 86. Herb worked in construction and was an EMT and Fireman for over 30 years with Wayne Twp. He was also on the Wayne Twp. Zoning Appeals Board. He was also an Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #179. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. (nee Kibler) Dunkmann; children, Georgianna "Gidget" (Eddie) Howlett, Pollianna "Polly" Torres and Herbert "Brian" Dunkmann; grandchildren, Benjamin E. Howlett, Abigail Howlett, Courtney Torres and Caitlin Torres. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Marian Montgomery. Friends will be received on Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH 45107. Private graveside will be held. Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the VA Hospital, Attn. Voluntary Services, 3200 Vine St. Cincinnati, OH 45220.
