Helen A. Bradley
April 12, 1943 – August 20, 2022
Helen Ann Bradley, 79, of Loveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022 surrounded by her entire immediate family.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Bradley (her Bobby) for 58 years; mother of two daughters, Brenda Poindexter and Cindy Carpenter; and dear mother-in-law of David Poindexter and Jeff Carpenter. She was an incredible Mamaw of Emily (David), Claire (Marissa), Anne (Cameron), Ellie, Scott, and Kate, and great-grandmother of John David and Carson.
She was a daughter of Christ, with a deep and abiding faith. She sought to exalt Him in all that she did.
Everyone who knew Helen felt her big heart and giving nature. Through the mountains and valleys, she had an innate ability to overcome adversity. Always with a smile on her face and more energy than one could possibly imagine, she was a real life energizer bunny.
Helen never met a stranger. She had the knack for finding something, or someone, in common with each new friend. With her ever-ready smile and warm presence, she served as an extra-Mamaw to countless children and was the matriarch of the neighborhood. She was genuinely best friends with the mailman and local grocery store cashier - exuding an open hearted nature that endeared her to all those around her. She even founded a lunch group for her grand jury friends that has met regularly for almost 30 years – a true testament to her ability to seek connection with others.
Sending greeting cards for birthdays and anniversaries was one of Mamaw's love languages. She has single handedly kept Hallmark in business, sending cards to anyone and everyone for every holiday imaginable – Halloween, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Birthdays.
Her favorite event of the year was black Friday shopping with grandkids. She was the smallest sports fan with a huge heart for grandkids and their teammates: lacrosse, soccer, bowling, and marching band. She loved working puzzles and passed that love on to her grand- and great-grandchildren. No family holiday or event passed without everyone gathering around a table to work a puzzle, led by Mamaw, a puzzle extraordinaire who brought stories of her life and gentle matriarchal warmth to the puzzle-making process. No puzzle experience was complete without Bob swiping the last puzzle piece to hide away – leading Mamaw to sigh and repeat her constant refrain of "Boo-oob" in response to his antics, always failing to hide her smile at his silly jokes.
She doted on her Bobby, their loving relationship an inspiration for all those who were blessed to witness their great love. Helen and Bob were one another's greatest adventure – their hearts connecting like two pieces of Mamaw's beloved puzzles.
She had a gift for hospitality and made everyone who visited her home feel welcomed – no guest leaving without a pint-sized, but mighty hug from Mamaw and a full belly.
Helen loved Jesus fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace surrounded by light in her heavenly home.
"I'm gonna sing in the middle of the storm. Louder and louder, you're gonna hear my praises roar. Up from the ashes hope will arise. Death is defeated, the King is alive. I raise a hallelujah. With everything inside of me"
