Gerard L. Eppstein "Jerry" of Reading, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday August 31, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born May 21, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Russell A. and Mary E. (nee Fox) Eppstein. Jerry's life was rooted in faith and family. He held a deep connection to the Blessed Mother. Jerry loved playing basketball and was still competing at age 80.

Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Theresa (nee Linneman) Eppstein and their four children John (Kristan), Tim (Mary), Rachel (Daniel) Bruening, Laura (Bryan) Shelley and three granddaughters Molly and Liza Eppstein and Emelia Bruening. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother & sister-in-law Thomas & Louise Wesdorp.

Friends and Family will be received at a visitation at Community of Good Shepherd 8815 E. Kemper Road on Friday September 5, 2025, 8:45am to 9:45am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. A livestream of the service can be found here.

Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
