Gerald Lee Marcum, 88, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2023, in Blanchester, Ohio. Born in McKee, Kentucky on November 14, 1934, Gerald's life was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of helping others.

His formative years were spent in Blanchester, Ohio, where he graduated from Blanchester High School in 1951. After graduation, he went on to work for Ford Motor Co, where he dedicated 30 years of service before retiring in 1982.

A man of many interests, Gerald lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping and fishing. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his love for his community. He served at the Blanchester food pantry for 12 years. Gerald also spent 20 wonderful years in Florida, soaking up the sunshine and creating lasting memories. A faithful servant of the Lord, Gerald was a longtime member of the Blanchester Church of Christ.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Coomer) Marcum. Together, they raised two children: Alice Faye Owens and Gary Lee (Deborah) Marcum, who in turn blessed Gerald with eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Half-brother, Joseph Barr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Marcum and Elizabeth (Coffey) Barr; son-in-law, Paul Owens; brother, Ruford Marcum; half-brother, Thomas Barr; half-sisters, Mary Lou Boucher, Gail Struthers, and Patricia Barr.

Friends will be received from 5-7pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St., Blanchester, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held at 10am on September 9, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer-Blanchester.

Interment will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, Ohio.
