George A. Wolbers, 94, left this world on October 4, 2025, after a life well-lived and full of love, laughter, and adventure.

George was born in Loveland, Ohio and resided there for most of his 94 years. His final residence was in Milford, Ohio. He was a well-known friend to many with a personality that could light up a room and his friendliness would make any stranger feel welcome. He was never without a joke or two! He was born into St. Columban Catholic Church and remained a parishioner until his time of death, making him the longest active member of the parish. He was a man that gave his time to his parish for many years through church festivals, leading the Friday night Bingos, greeting members into mass, and fulfilling many other church needs.

His work career began on the family farm at a young age and upon graduation he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. After serving, he began working as a city truck driver for a major freight company. Once he retired from there, he fulfilled a dream of becoming a licensed auctioneer and with the help of his wife they became a successful team. He held other part-time jobs including work at St. Columban and Kings Ford until he permanently retired at the age of 84 in 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn (nee Boyd), a daughter Jacci (Phil–deceased) Varney, two grandchildren Sarah (Kirk) Fisher and Taylor (Lindsay) Varney and great grandchildren, Charlotte and Ellie Varney and Kristopher Fisher.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Columban Church, 894 Oakland Road, Loveland, Ohio 45140 on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM. A lunch will immediately follow where family and friends can gather to share stories and remember George.

A private interment will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, Ohio at a later date.
