George C. of Montgomery, OH. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Roesch) Smith for 58 years. Loving father of Laura S. (George) Babcock, George M. (Teri) Smith and David A. (Julie Pompilio) Smith. Proud grandfather of Alex, Ben, Julia and Jasper Smith. Brother of the late Dorothy (Lee) Riggs, the late Mary Frances (Jack) Lancaster and the late Lynn (Warren) Langdon. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 80. George was born June 2, 1936 in Daytona Beach, Florida and attended Georgia Institute of Technology College of Engineering (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia where he obtained his Chemical Engineering degree. As a Ramblin' Wreck, George was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and played trombone in the marching band. He met Anne while working for his future father-in-law. He enjoyed stiff Manhattans, food of many cuisines, and had many interests including reading books, newspapers and the daily comics, listening to all styles of music, singing, lover of all things in nature and taking walks with Anne and their many dogs over the years. Hilton Head Island was a favorite destination. He also was an Eagle Scout and retired from Procter & Gamble in 1995 after 35 years of employment. Friends and family will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Parish, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, OH. Entombment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed in George's memory to Hospice of Cincinnati P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597 or a charity of one's choice. Fr. Jack Wehman will be Celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial for George. Pallbearers for George will be Maurice Roesch III, George M. Smith, David A. Smith, Laura S. Babcock, George F.
