The family invites you to a luncheon and celebration of George's life from 12pm-3pm (immediately following Mass). Further details will be shared at the service.
George and his wife enjoyed many adventures together, including numerous kayak trips on the Little Miami River and, more recently, a white-water rafting trip in North Carolina. Their biggest adventure was raising their two children together, where George sought to be his daughter and son's biggest fan. This support showed itself in plotting out the routes to sprint from spot to spot to cheer on his daughter as many times as possible in her running races and to attend his son's swimming competitions patiently and faithfully through the years. This enthusiasm extended to promoting their goals as they each began to make their way in the wider world.
A lifelong University of Cincinnati bearcat fan (and alum) and tennis enthusiast, George enjoyed friendships spanning decades connected to these two commitments. His sporting interests extended, as well, to enthusiastic grandfatherly "wrestlemania" matches with his beloved grandsons.
George had a deeply ingrained pride in the accomplishments of our country, most notably for the U.S. Constitution and the work of the Founding Fathers, but perhaps more famously for the United States Interstate Highway System; he was known for asking, "What's your favorite interstate exit ramp?". More recently, his love of these thoroughfares was strengthened when, on a trip through central Texas, he was introduced by his son to the roadside marvel Buc-ee's. He and his wife managed to visit several across multiple state lines in a remarkably short period of time whether — or not— they needed a pitstop.
Most importantly, George was a true believer in the Word of God and Jesus the Son and Savior. George sought to help others see this truth.
The family wishes to thank the many people who were part of George's life throughout his years and for the support shown amid his sudden passing. Please pray for George and his family.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Requiescat in Pace.
