George A. Born in Bangor, Maine November 3, 1932 to John and Francis (Billington) Quirk and passed away May 25, 2013. George graduated from U of Maine and served 12 years in the United States Marine Corp. retiring as a Lt. Colonel. George is survived by his wife Mina, daughters Kathleen Dixon, Mary Jo (Dan) Walls, Anne Marie "Mimi" Quirk, 5 granddaughters Erin (John) Schwind, Andrea and Shelby Dixon, Karina and Raquel Rosa, and one grandson, Jared Walls and two great-grand-daughters. He also leaves brother Jack (Bunny) Quirk, brother-in-law Don Munson, and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, sister JoAnn Munson, and son-in-law Steve Dixon. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Tuesday June 4 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be directed to the Salvation Army or Wounded Warrior Project.
