George Anthony Jutze, Born in Cincinnati May 3, 1927, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 20, 2014. Son of Harry and Lucille (Grothjan) Jutze, George married the love of his life Mary Joan Eckert on August 22, 1953. He was a loving husband and a devoted and loving father to Chris (Dave) Krumdieck, Connie Arozarena, Katie Jutze, George (Deb) Jutze, Amy Malloy, Tom (Julie) Jutze, Rob (Bartley) Jutze and Beth (Dean) DiGiacinto. He was a proud Grandfather to Gretchen and Jon Krumdieck; Darby (Dave) Forcum, Danny and Shelly Arozarena; Grant, Lance and Brent Jutze; Staff Sergeant Chris (Ashley), Aaron and Ali Feighery; Cassie and Nick Malloy; Hayden, Madison and Griffin Jutze; Mary Kate, Maggie, Ellie and Molly Jutze.
He graduated from St. Xavier High School and Xavier University with an undergrad and graduate degree. A lifelong Muskie fan, he was a supporter of both schools. George was a longtime member of St. Vincent Ferrer parish and was the first parish council president. He was instrumental in the development of the annual parish festival. George also served as a board member at Kenwood Country Club.
George's many charitable endeavors include his work with Boy's Hope Girl's Hope. He chaired the annual golf outing, was Chairman of the Board and was honored with the Heart of Gold award. George's career started with the Public Health Service (predecessor to the EPA). He also educated students part time at UC and XU. He left the PHS to launch his own Environmental Firm, Pedco Environmental Inc. George grew this company into a 350 employee national business. He later founded Environmental Quality Management and was president until his retirement in 1999.
George touched many lives through his long and joyful life. We are proud to be his children, and we, along with our Mother, invite you to his funeral mass at St. Vincent Ferrer Church on Monday February 24th at 10:00 am, with a visitation starting at 9:00.
