George B. "Gramps" Gierach Jr. of Goshen, OH., passed peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 97. George was born on March 16, 1927, in Florence, KY.

George is survived by two grandchildren, James (Rhonda) Nause Jr. and Bryan (Miranda) Nause Sr.; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla (Johnny) McKenzie, Bryan (Olivia) Nause Jr., Nick Nause Jr., Alexus Riley, Shelby Riley, Penny King, Logen Nause, Robyn King and Caleb Nause; one great-great-grandson, John Red McKenzie; son in law, James Nause Sr.; special friend, Rosie Hale; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.

George is preceded in death by his beloved wife Maxine R. (nee Puckett) Gierach; daughter, Pam Nause; grandson, Nick Nause Sr.; six sisters, Edith, Ruth, Thelma, Joan, Phyllis and Joyce; four brothers, Norb, Bernie, Kenny and Bob; parents, George B. Sr. and Edith (nee Kaiser) Gierach.

Corporal George proudly served in the United States Army, 3rd Infantry regiment, during World War II. He served as a part of the occupation of Germany. While in service he received a WWII victory ribbon and Army of occupation medal (Germany). He retired from GM in Norwood after 32 years of service. George was an avid bowler. His wit and humor were with him up to the day he left us.

Friends will be received from 10 AM - 12 Noon on Monday, February 24 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 12 Noon on Monday. Interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery, 1093 Morrow Woodville Road, Blanchester, Ohio 45107.
