Gene Carlton Cowper of Loveland, OH. Born on July 10, 1937 in Royal Oak, MI. passed in the caring company of his family on Monday, October 28 at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Sandra (Maxwell) Cowper. Former husband of the late Sharon (Dreyer) Cowper. Loving father of Shawn (Carolyn) Cowper, Eric Cowper, Carrie Cowper and step-father of Debbie (Phil) Zumbahlen and Scott (Carmen) Deland. Caring grandfather of 3 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild. Dear brother of the late Donna (late Jack) Pomeroy, Norma (Charles) Davis, the late Robert Cowper, and Fay (late Ron) Tomczyk. Esteemed son of the late Franklin L. and Norma (Jenero) Cowper, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Gene was a graduate in fine arts from Wayne State University, and worked in architectural and automotive design in Detroit before becoming a regional sales manager and business owner. He had a lifelong interest in astronomy and flying, earning his private pilot license as a teen. He served in the Air Force Reserve, and was a lifelong member of Masonic Lodge 464 in Royal Oak, MI. He particularly loved to watch his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Benjamin, and Emma perform on stage.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 1 from 4-5:30 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, OH 45140.
