Gary L. Roell, Sr., of Sycamore Twp., previously of Delhi. Beloved husband of 18 years to Nancy (nee Jones). Loving father of Gary L. Roell Jr. (Rebecca), Matthew G. Roell (Kelly), Ryan D. Roell (Lindsay), Michael J. Roell, David C. Roell and Andrew J. Roell. Proud grandfather of Gavin, Natalie, Alyssa, Brady, Kaden and Rhylin. Dear son of Joyce (nee Baker) and the late Gene Roell. Dearest brother of Tina Mersmann (Mark) and Debbie Meyer (Jim). Brother-in-law of Carol and Tom Wilkinson and Don and Dorothy Jones. Uncle and great uncle of many. Passed away August 13, 2013 at the age of 59. Gary grew up in Delhi and graduated from Western Hills High School. He was a Reservationist for American Airlines for 17 years and was also a member of Sycamore Presbyterian Church, where he did many church mission trips, including working with Habitat for Humanity and the Santa Maria Center. Music, playing his guitar and playing for people were his passions. He played at open mics all over Cincinnati with Graeters on Mason Montgomery Road being one of his favorite places to play. Being a song writer, he wrote many Christian based songs and songs with a positive message. Gary loved his children and was a great father. He loved to travel, the outdoors, camping, hiking and loved family vacations to St. Pete's beach. Because Gary was such a giving person, he supported two mission children with World Vision and believed that everyone in the world should have clean water. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18 from 5-8 p.m. in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Dr., Loveland 45140. Funeral services will be held at Sycamore Presbyterian Church, 11800 Mason Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati 45249. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
