Gail Anita Cowell of Wilmington, Ohio. Loving wife of 58 years to the late Robert “Bob” Cowell, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, adventure, and unwavering partnership. Through the Mercy and Love of Christ, together Bob and Gail built a close-knit family centered on faith. Cherished mother of Rob Cowell, Christina (Matt) Hathaway, and Stephanie (Aaron) Mackris. Incredibly proud grandmother of Steven (Brianna Puckett) Hathaway, Tony Hathaway, Abigail Hathaway, Sam Mackris, and Gabe Mackris. Her grandchildren were her great treasures, and she delighted in cheering them on with her favorite words, “Go, Fight, Win!” Beloved sister of Eric Schreiber, blessed cousin and proud aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Wilbert and Lena Schreiber. Passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 80.

Gail was an artist from an early age. She expressed her love for God’s creation through painting, drawing, interior decorating, gardening, birdwatching, and photography. She was known for her joyful, creative spirit and optimism throughout her life, including her many years in the photography business, and then also in business management for Verizon Wireless. Alongside Bob, in later life, Gail lived her dream, owning Fair Weather Barn Antiques, where her appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the beauty of nature inspired countless others. Gail and Bob traveled the United States from coast to coast, discovering the rich beauty and history of the country together. Those journeys became a wellspring of inspiration for her artwork, as she captured on canvas the landscapes, flowers, barns, birds, and quiet places that reflected God’s handiwork. Gail will be missed tremendously by her family and friends, who will honor her memory by embracing each day with gratitude, noticing the beauty around them, encouraging those they love, and remembering her simple but profound words: “Make it a good one.”

A Joint Celebration of Life honoring both Gail and her beloved husband Bob, will take place on Monday, August 10 at Faith Bible Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. With Visitation at 11:00 A.M., Celebration of Life at 12:00 P.M., and a joint Graveside service, including military honors for Bob at 1:30 P.M.
