Obituary

Frederick Ellis DeBra - born October 1, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Fred B. and Martha Wanetta (Murphy) DeBra who preceded him in death. Fred passed on to glory with his Savior on July 1, 2019 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife and true love of 51 years, Donna Carol Reed DeBra, and his children Rebecca (Patrick) Burgess, Joshua (Traci), Ryan (KC), and Seth (Mallory) DeBra. He is survived by his 15 grandchildren, Kirsten Johnson, Reagan (Brandon) Fulton, Rachel, and Andrew Dean Johnson; TJ Preston, Madison, Caden, Kylie, Tessa, and Dillon DeBra, Ayla and Iris DeBra; and Clark, Charlotte, and Penelope DeBra. He leaves 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Wanda DeBra, Rosie DeBra, David (Diana) DeBra, Nina (Jim) Lage, and Leah (Bill) Schriner along with his in-laws Sandy Tarkington, and Mo (Michelle) Reed, who were all near during his final days. His nieces and nephews were all dear to him as well. He is visiting with his father and mother in law again, Herman and Martha Reed who went to glory before him. His dear friends, Dan Tarkington and Jim Lippert, were constants in his life over the many decades. Fred DeBra was a graduate of Indian Hill High School (1963) and the University of Cincinnati (1967). He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam. He met Donna Reed while sheriff of Dodge City. He won Donnas heart and affection by rescuing her from the grasps of his arch enemy and notorious outlaw Bartholomew McGillicuty (AKA: Black Bart) ...he saved Donna that fateful day and never let her leave his heart. Their journey had only just begun He then continued the legacy of his father and ran and grew the family business for the next 30 years, Fred B. DeBra Co. He met many colleagues, employees, and competitors during this time in the HVAC industry, many whom he called friends until his death. Fred coached numerous teams over the years and touched the lives of many people. Frederick Ellis DeBra was a husband, father, believer, Papaw, philosopher, storyteller, teacher, writer, creator, poet, actor, mechanical contractor, comic, coach, dancer, intellectual, chocolate milk and Ice cream connoisseur, preacher, swimming pool technician, and friend. What Fred loved most was God, Donna, and his family. To be surrounded by loved ones is what brought Fred true joy. As Micah 6:8 states "He has made it clear to you, mortal man, what is good and what the LORD is requiring from you to act with justice, to treasure the LORDs gracious love, and to walk humbly in the company of your God." Visitation will be held Friday July 5, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Tufts-Schildmeyer funeral home in Loveland - 129 Riverside Drive, Loveland. A visitation will also be held Saturday morning prior to the funeral at 9:00 AM at Hope Church Mason, 4934 Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. The Funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday July 6, 2019 at Hope Church. Following the funeral will by a brief graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, 234 Center Street, (SR 126) Miamiville, Ohio 45140. .
