Freda D. Crawford Jackson, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on May 26, 1935, in Pleasant Plain, Ohio.

Freda was one of the founding members of the Blanchester Life Squad. She dedicated much of her time to helping improve the emergency services to the community by working the weekly Bingo game with food services to raise funds for new equipment. She was a dedicated member of the volunteer crews that answered emergency calls at all hours of the day and night. Freda also achieved licensing as an EMT, Certified Medical Assistant and an X-Ray Technician.

Freda was also extremely creative. She enjoyed drawing, crafting items for the home and sewing where she made patterns, clothing and quilts. Many of the items she made were donated to raise funds for different causes. She was one of the Busy Fingers 4-H club leaders for young ladies of the area during the sixties who wished to learn how to sew and participate in other options open to them. Freda was also an accomplished cake decorator and many in the area enjoyed her gorgeous, tasty wedding cakes.

She also participated along with her sister in Samaritan's Purse / Operation Christmas Child by making and selling items to raise funds to fill and send close to 200 boxes to needy children.

She is survived by her children, Christine (Jeff) Santel, Robert T. (Tammy) Jackson, Jr., Catherine (Richard) Stoffer, Jayne (Michael) McCoy, and Terry Jackson; grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley) Jackson, Elizabeth (Bryan) Truelock, Anderson (Savannah) Stoffer, Sarah (Matt) Redick, Casey (Liza) McCoy, Lynna (Jesse) Hedrick; numerous great-grandchildren.

Freda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" T. Jackson; parents, Oscar and Pearl (Jones) Crawford; sisters Beulah Decker, Irene Cox, Ruby Jones, Anna Braucksick, and Inez Worley, and brothers Paul, Wilbur and Herman Crawford.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at McCoy's Place, 1130 Gurneyville Rd, Wilmington, Ohio.

The graveside service will take place at Edwardsville Cemetery following the Celebration of Life service.
