Fred Polly Sr. of Goshen, OH. Passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the age of 83. Born on February 3, 1939 in Kingsport, TN.
Beloved husband of the late Gloria Lee (nee Moss) Polly. Loving father of Vicki Polly, Fred (Molly) Polly Jr., Becky (Mike) Irwin, Misty (Greg) Warren and the late Debbie Wilder. Father-in-law of Allen Wilder. Caring grandfather of Christy (Tim) Gregory, Sarah (Mickey) Parsons, Mike (Theresa) Irwin Jr., Katrina Warren, Jason (Danielle) Wilder, Gloria (Jerry) Settelmayer, Fred (Amy) Polly III, Hannah Polly and Samantha Warren. Proud great-grandfather of Kierstin Gregory, Kayla (Hunter) Gresh, Taylor and Connor Foster, Peyton Hensley, Josie and Jackson Gregory, Sidney, Braydon and Jackson Wilder, Carter, Braylon, Andrea and Grayson Settelmayer, Laila and Adalyn Polly and Coralyn Irwin. Devoted great-great grandfather of Charlotte Gresh. Dear brother of Delores True, Carl Polly, Maryanne Morgan, Ronnie Polly, Linda Polly, Carolyn (Tom) Nickley, Danny Polly, Paul Polly, Rick Polly and the late Janette Fullen, Jan Polly, Helen Marie Polly, Donnie Polly and Walker Polly. Cherished son of the late Walker Lee and Beatrice (nee Crabtree) Polly. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
Fred proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred was a surviving POW. He was a mechanic and entrepreneur. Fred's interest included playing and coaching softball. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. Fred's true passion was spending quality time with his family and friends.
Friends will be received from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, February 11 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 11 AM.
Interment with military honors at Goshen Cemetery.
Rev. Ronnie Polly will be the minister for Fred's services.
