Franklin Delano Henize Sr. of Goshen, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2020 at the age of 79.
Franklin was born on March 21, 1941 in Felicity, OH to Robert and Gladys Henize. Franklin left school in the 8th grade to help feed his family and later in his 40's Franklin obtained his GED. Franklin met Norma, who later became his wife, who he met through his sister, Karen. Franklin was a welder at General Electric and while there was one of the first men to build the engines for the stealth bomber. He was a welder instructor and taught so many the trade of welding including his son, Frank. After leaving General Electric, he went on to become a journyman where him and Norma traveled the United States to see the many wonders of our great nation.
In 1979, Franklin joined the Edenton Masonic Lodge No. 332 and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in 1981 and remained a Mason even up to his death.
Franklin was an avid fisherman, a car and truck enthusiast, loved boxing, gardening and volunteering as a fire fighter as well as loving his family.
Franklin is survived by three loving daughters, Julia Henize-Pearson, Maria (Mike) Henize-Sparks and Ammi (Eddie) Kidd; 8 caring grandchildren, Lindsey (Jason) Barrial, Tristen, Tyler and Trevor Henize, Dalton Pearson, Austyn Henize, Faith Kidd and Shelby Henize; three proud great-grandchildren, Camden, Ryder and Norah Barrial; three caring brothers, Mark Henize, Mitch Henize and Robbie Henize; six dear sisters, Shirley, Pixie, Jackie, Beverly, Donna and Kathy; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
Franklin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Norma June Henize; a son, Franklin Delano Henize Jr.; two sisters, Charlotte and Karen; and his parents, Robert Frederick and Gladys Mae (nee Beebe) Henize.
A Celebration of Life Service for both Franklin and his wife, Norma will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 12 Noon to 6 PM at Maria's home, 5498 Mt. Zion Rd., Milford, OH 45150.
