Ernest William, 91, a Cincinnati resident for over 50 years, passed away in Walnut Creek, California on August 21, 2005 after a long illness associated with chronic lung disease. Beloved husband for 56 years to the late Dorothy Christy Woolery, a Cincinnati native and father of Dr. John C. Woolery and his wife Victoria Holmes Woolery and grandfather of William Maxwell Woolery all of LaFayette, California. He is the son of the late Dr. Benjamin F. and Emma Jane Woolery of Louisville, Kentucky. Brother of the late Arthur J. Woolery, the late Carroll C. Woolery and the late Orville Woolery. He is the uncle to Ruth Long of Gadsen, Alabama. He was the sales manager at Hare and Son Builders and Realtors for over 20 years. He attended the University of Louisville and played the French horn in the Louisville Symphony and Schubert Light Opera Productions. He later received a scholarship and studied the French horn at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He is an honorary life member of the American Federation of Musicians, member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, member of the Montgomery Lodge#94 where he received a 60 year service award, the Scottish Rite and life member of the Syrian Shrine where he was active in the Shrine Band. One of his favorite activities was playing park concerts in George Smith's (Smittie's) Band. He will be sorely missed by friends and family in Ohio and California. Friends received at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 Riverside Drive, Loveland, on Friday from 6 to 8 PM with Montgomery Lodge #94 service at 7:30 PM. And where funeral servies will held on Saturday, August 27 at 10 AM with interment in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
