Emil Nelson "Buff" Buffington, DPM of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on December 24, 2013. Buff was born in Newark, NY on August 5, 1920 to Emil Enos Buffington and Gertrude Neff, but grew up in Cincinnati. While serving in the Navy in the Pacific in World War II, he met and married Antoinette Cyr in Washington DC. They had six children: Bruce, Dan, Steve, Joan, John, and Phil. Buff attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and then moved to Cincinnati to practice first in Norwood, then in Pleasant Ridge, and finally in Kenwood. He was loved by his patients. His kindness was an inspiration to all. He was the first podiatrist in Cincinnati to be invited to be on staff at Christ Hospital. By Buff's request, the family will have a small private memorial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in late January. Donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
