Preceded in death by son Roger Chub (Nancy) Grether, daughter Monnie K. (Jeff) Miller, 2 brothers and one sister. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna "Millie" (nee Thacker) Grether, daughters Daveeta Dale Grether and Jenny Lynne (Tony) Sizemore, sister Betty Jane, grandchildren Don, Michelle, Priscilla, Tina, Anthony and Anna, great grandchildren Ben, Jared, Kennedy, Amberly, Michael, Nicholas and Jackson. Great friends LA and Brenda Lawson. Retired from Siemens in Norwood after 45 years. A proud WWII Veteran served in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Rhineland and Ardennow. He was in Berlin at the end of the War. Awarded a good conduct medal, EAME THR Service medal with 5 bronze stars and a victory medal. He enjoyed old cars, fishing, and playing horseshoes.
