Elmer F. Hambaugh's Obituary

Elmer Frelin Hambaugh Jr., 86, departed this life to his heavenly home on March 28, 2026.

He was born on November 18, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Elmer Hambaugh Sr. and Eleanor Gregg.

Elmer was a faithful member of the First Church of God in South Lebanon, Ohio. He dedicated 32 years of service as a bus operator with SORTA (Metro), where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly presence. Following his retirement, he continued to serve others by volunteering for the past eight years at the Little Miami Food Pantry, demonstrating his generous spirit and commitment to his community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda; his children, Tonja Michelle Caudill (Gary) of Delhi, Ohio, Melanie Hubbard (Mike) of Sharonville, Ohio, David Hambaugh (Amanda) of Harrison, Ohio, and Jessica Green (Stephen) of Morrow, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers-in-law; and one nephew.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God, 325 Pleasant Avenue, South Lebanon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Missionary Society at the South Lebanon First Church of God.

Elmer will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and unwavering faith. His legacy of service and love will live on in all who knew him.
