Elaine Burton Christman died of complications while receiving care for an ongoing illness. She was the wife of Clifford Christman of Blanchester who preceded her in death on January 2, 2015, and had one son, Jason Wayne Burton, who was 45 years old and preceded her in death on July 2, 2019, of a lengthy illness.

Elaine resided with her brother-in-law, James Christman who helped her maintain the house and live feeling safe as her heath began to fail. She is one of thirteen children of Hugh and Sarah (nee Shinkle) Burton of New Vienna. There are four living siblings, Rosemary Priest Dabbott of Portsmouth, Dianne Roush of Lynchburg, Lydia Ryan of New Vienna, and Aaron W. Burton of South Carolina.

Along with her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings, David Burton of Blanchester, Barbara Mongold of New Vienna, Robert M. Burton, Donald L. Burton, Hugh Jr., Cynthia May Pierce of Tennessee.

Elaine was 78 years old; she lived a full life and is now with her husband and son. She was known to be a good cook, kindhearted, and worked in the restaurant industry. She will be missed by her friends and family. Elaine graduated from New Kenton High School in 1964 and had a content life with Cliff and her son, Jason. She belonged to The Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, who helped her through difficult times.

Eliane went to be with the Lord August 28, 2023, at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Friends will be received from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home-Blanchester.

Interment will take place at Westboro Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
